Kitchen extract and grease duct cleaning
Grease builds up in kitchen extract systems, binds dust and is a fire hazard. In café and restaurant kitchens we clean the hoods, grease filters and extract ducts — in the evening or at the weekend, when the kitchen is closed.
Why it matters
Why grease ducts need regular cleaning
Cooking releases grease vapour into the air. Some of it is caught by the grease filters; the rest settles on the walls of the hood and the extract duct. The grease layer binds dust and gets thicker over the years.
According to the Estonian Rescue Board’s guidance, the kitchen extract is the most fire-prone part of a ventilation system: fires often start in kitchen extract ducts that haven’t been cleaned properly.
When grease narrows the duct, extraction may weaken, leaving steam and smells in the kitchen.

How often
How often to clean kitchen ventilation
Based on standard EVS 812-2, the Estonian Rescue Board recommends cleaning professional kitchen ducts according to how many hours a day the kitchen runs:
- 2–6 hours a day — at least once a year.
- 6–12 hours a day — every six months.
- 12–16 hours a day — every quarter.

Yes. We work in the evenings and at weekends so the cleaning doesn’t get in the way of the kitchen.

Yes. After the job we give you a report of the completed work and an invoice.

Yes. We agree on how often to clean based on the kitchen’s working hours.
How much does kitchen extract cleaning cost?
We price each kitchen individually: it depends on the number of hoods and ducts, the duct length and access. You get the price before we start.
